At this point it does not appear clear the purposes of such a rail line would fulfill. I am not proposing a route, but some concerns that we may have, which may in the end affect routes. #1 Will the rail line be available to public, e.g. transportation for those wishing to ride the train to one of the terminus points to disembark and be met by local travel amenities, or be able to rent transportation? #2 Will such a rail line transport freight to & fro for local economies? #3 How much of our local and largest resource of crude oil will be transported; thereby reducing the impact of trucking traffic along hwy 40? #4 What percent of our (the Basin) GBP (Gross Basin Product) will be affected and in fine which economies? Obviously, much truck routing will be diverted to terminus points. #5 What affect would such a change have on employment in the Basin? The over arching question might well be, "What will be the impact to the Uinta Basin residents, including all wildlife?" Thank you.
