I'm curious if the Uintah Railway grade was considered as a possible alternative route. From Mack to Atchee, the grade would be favorable. From Atchee to Evacuation Creek, a 2-2.4 mile tunnel would avoid the grades and curves over Baxter Pass. This would also have favorable grades to reach Watson, UT. From Watson, it would be new grade once again the rest of the way to the Uintah Basin.
