Mr. Wayland, My husband, Terry, bought this land years before we got married. When he was Twenty-one, he purchased it from his Uncle, Carl, who has since passed away. There was an agreement to keep it in the family. This land is meant for future generations not only to enjoy but also to preserve. Terry has been dealing with health issues for the last 9+ years. We have not been able to build on the land until very recently. We were so excited to finally have our dream of creating a small getaway on the land come true, only to then hear that they want to take it all away. As a family we have been able to go out to the land with our children to find a little peace. Throughout the years we have been able to watch and experience the various wildlife that calls this land home. Deer with their Fawn, Moose, Elk and many others that live in this slice of preserved land that still welcomes nature. Imposing a railroad on this land is ethically wrong. It will affect the community, families, but most importantly the wildlife. There are already alternative routes in place that would easily be connected to in the immediate area. These routes would not cut through existing property and land that will affect those mentioned above. This is a typical case of greed, violating landowner's rights for profit. Whether or not anyone owns the land we are all stewards and it is up to all of us to do what is right. There is not a lot of this kind of land available anymore so having this space to enjoy what nature has given us is precious and shouldn't be taken for granted. You want to impose a right of way for a railroad line. What is next a right of way for a power line which is already in the works or a pipeline to transmit oil or gas or one of each. Where is this ever going to end. You have it withing your power to preserve this precious land. We appreciate the opportunity to have our voice heard. Deanna and Terry Herrera
