In consideration of the proposed GLBTI would like to offer my opposition to this plan. From what I have read you need to consider when reviewing the plan...almost all aspects of this plan are negative. As a resident in northwest Indiana the major points I oppose are: 1. The environment - I can see many negative impacts and very few positives 2. The maintenance of the community characteristics -mostly rural with some suburban areas- quiet communities forever adversely effected 3. Safety - multiple rail crossings over county roads, dangerous cargo, limited ability of local emergency responders 4. Necessity - with none of the major rail carriers in support this simply doesn’t make sense 5. Geological - this area is frequently flooded and doesn’t support heavy use, i.e. we have frost laws that forbid loads over a certain weight to travel county roads in the spring, fields routinely flood in spring and drainage is a constant issue. Thank you for your consideration of these and others comments.
