I'm writing in opposition to the proposed GLB railroad. Too much of our natural lands have been developed already, for the sole purpose of cash to people who already have more than most. I don't have in depth knowledge of the total scope of this proposed line, but lands I am familiar with, that would be devastated, are beautiful. This project would destroy that forever. For what? There would be very little economic benefit, if any. The profit generated would end up being stockpiled into billionaire bank accounts - never to circulate in our economy again. The farm revenue this rail will take away gets spent and circulated several times within each affected community, to the benefit of all. There are CLEAR environmental and economic reasons to reject this project. Eminent domain was never intended to make billionaires more money. Eminent domain was never intended to force people to hand their homes and property over to the already wealthy, in an effort to further line their pockets. There is not one product that I've wanted over the last decade that I've struggled to get because our current rail system was inadequate. Thank you for your time and consideration.
