Thank you for listening to our concerns surrounding the possible intrusion of a railroad proposed by the Great Lakes Basin Railroad. To be clear, we do not want the tracks to be laid in Winnebago County because there is no need for such a business across the land. In the open, peaceful farmlands and homelands, it seems unreasonable to invite railroad traffic and noise pollution, especially when only 60+ miles east, highways such as Interstate 90 and Interstate 94 offer well-established pathways for moving goods. Alongside these thoroughfares, there are opportunities for laying tracks where neighboring businesses and metropolitan residences would welcome more commerce. The proposed map from GLBR cuts a swath of irreplaceable farmland and homeland, lands potentially disappearing in the name of progress. I think it's time to consider the individual owner who plants and loves the land over the right to practice eminent domain for those who would only profit. Thank you for your time and consideration.
