Meridian Rd. In Rockton, IL. Which is one mile from Shirland, IL. Across the road from me are huge high-lines with the Buckeye gas line, northern Illinois gas line and some kind of underground cable line running along with the high-lines. The glb railroad is planning to run rail lines over these gas lines at some point, and over or under rivers heading to Wisconsin. I have heard that hundreds of trains will be running over these lines a day and I don’t believe you should allow this due to the breakdown of the underground lines. The Buckeye gas line was placed in the ground in 1954 and therefor is very old. This alone could cause lines to break because of so much shaking of the ground and the weight of so many trains. A gas leak with so much static electricity from the high-lines could be a deadly disaster for many. It seems that a gas or oil line breaks somewhere in this country every day and we don’t seem to hear much, if at all, how the breaks are being stopped and cleaned up. Please don’t let money and oil make your decision. Stop the GLB railroad from going across America today. Our lives and businesses are at stake here. Please help the people and stop oil companies from taking land they really have no right to. Thank you for your time. Virgene L. McVau
