Not enough specific information has been forthcoming to the public from the companies behind the GLB Railroad. It is as if they are attempting to obfuscate their purpose in building this private shipping lane. From the research I have read, the railroad is being built to transport fracked oil. The tracks will not bring any money to our area. The tracks will not bring jobs to our area or help our economy in any way. They will, however, provide millions for their owners. The tankers traversing those tracks will be a constant threat to the land and water tables on which the tracks rest. The right-of-way that will be carrying oil in underground pipes are as much a danger to the countryside and their citizens as the trains. Once the tracks are built, who will maintain them? These are not being built for public transportation so who oversees their safety? Too many questions are going unanswered.
