Street SW Washington, D.C. 20423-0001 RE: Docket No. FD 35952 Dear Mr. Blodgett: Great Lakes Basin Transportation (GLBT) is trying to get a railroad to go through next to our back yard property lines out in the country in Beloit Township, Beloit Wisconsin in Eastern Rock County. The people in our neighborhood bought their homes in the country for peace and quiet and the country environment. The investors know nothing about rail lines and want a new line to collect tolls instead of using existing rail lines. The proposed rail lines would create environmental issues including wetlands and two crossings of the Rock River. Pesticides used on the rail line would affect the trees, shrubs, grass , pets and children in our backyards. The train horn would continuously be noisy since the highway the train would cross is extremely close. The noise and the vibrations from the train would constantly keep us awake at night and shake our houses. People having the railroad running along their property line in the back yard would lose significant property value. Our neighborhood wishes to keep the train from being built at all in our area.
