The railroad would be an environmental hazard through valuable farmland. Using up so many acres to haul hazardous material is a sin. If there were to be a spill, water would be contaminated as well as farmland and who would clean it up?how many years would a spill ruin the water and land? Would it ever be safe again? Being able to cross roads would be nearly impossible for all traffic including emergency vehicles and school buses. Land values will go down greatly. Destroying towns and people's homes and businesses so that people would have to relocate? Using up land in the Kankakee State Park will destroy land and wild life.. There are so many more negative reasons and hazards for this railroad than there are positive ones! Putting a railroad through is horrible idea in almost all ways! Who would really benefit from this railroad? Certainly not the people!!!
