As the proposed GLBT railway cuts our family farm in half I am voicing complete opposition on behalf of my family and myself. Our property would be the second farm affected inside the Boone County line in the SE corner of the County. The loss/destruction of our farm, our way of life, peace and quiet, destruction of property and property value, closure of local roads that impacts our safety and the overwhelmingly negative impact on our rural environment and wildlife does not justify this poorly planned and incompetent proposal. In all of my years this is one of the most asinine things I have ever seen or heard of and after reading about and listening to the principles of the make believe, non-existent railroad company it brings to question how people of such a lack of knowledge or common sense in terms of constructing such a grandiose project (it will take much longer than 2 years) can get this far to a scoping period and rile up and scare so many, just because they have an unrealistic idea, is very puzzling. The STB has an option in this process as an alternative to NOT BUILD, and this is exactly the option and obligation to the citizens, taxpayers and landowners that the STB should exercise. Save the land owners, citizens and taxpayers from any further grief or expense and kill this proposal, No Build!
