It is a dream of several businessmen to build the Great Lakes Basin Railroad. It will destroy so many dreams of the future farmers and other families that the railroad will go though. Please say no to this dream and block this railroad. I am sure that it is hard to keep up with all of the major issues of the existing railroads, so why would you even consider the Great Lakes Basin Railroad? Please block this proposal. I just do not understand how with all of the road closings that my son would be able to move large machinery from one side of my divided farm to the other? The lost time and the seed will be so much more expensive. Please block the Great Lakes Basin Railroad. Being raised in a rural setting is so much different that the big town feelings. Please think about the impact of a railroad going thru the best land in the United States and destroying it forever. The farmers alone will loose so much as well as all the other people living by the railroad. With 110 trains in a 24 hr period going 70 miles an hour would be hard to take. When do you rest? How do you get use to the noise? What if a train derailed? What about our water supply? Water will be setting along the new rail route with no where to go. The tile in our fields destroyed and the water would be their forever. Weeds will be growing so big with all the road closings and no traffic on them, who will cut them? It is so hard for me to even imagine what this could look like for our future. Please block the Great Lakes Basin Railroad forever. Think of America and the great land that we live in. Just put yourselves in our place for a moment and decide to see our future. Will it be this wonderful life or a life changed forever for the Dream of only a few men? Please say no. Thank you. Please review all the information from all sources before making a final decision. I am not sure what kind of freight the Great Lakes Basin Railroad will be hauling and the purpose of going on a rural railroad track to avoid Chicago. I think it is a dream of several businessmen and hope and pray you will not pass this railroad thru. Please review everything and make the best decision possible for the three states involved. Thank you.
