The proposed GLB RR would run through some of the richest, most productive farmland in the world. Please consider whether it is in the public's best interest to destroy thousands of acres of farmland. The fifth amendment of the Constitution states nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation." Of course, various court cases have debated when eminent domain may be used. In general, it seems the public should benefit from projects that result from the use of eminent domain. Please require GLB RR to file a full environmental impact statement. Please provide opportunities for public comment on the RR throughout the planning. Please make sure to balance whether the RR would actually create more good than the harm it would cause. Harm from destroying farmland. Harm that you probably can already feel from reading some of the letters you have been sent."
