Dear Mr. Navecky, I am writing to you in regards to Docket# FD 35952. I am requesting that during the Draft EIS process that the STB please study the socioeconomic impact that the proposed rail will have on the agriculture communities that this rail is proposed to travel through. The family farm is alive and well here in the Midwest and it will suffer greatly if this proposed rail is approved. It will not be a matter of one commercial farmer losing a few acres. A 'few acres taken' can mean the success or failure of a family farm. It will effect milk yields, crop production and yields and each individual farmer will be affected differently depending how his/her land is mutilated. But please do not let yourself or any one else think that none will come out unscathed, or that not every single land owner will come out without some scars from this proposed rail if it is approved. And it will not only effect individual land owners. The impact will be felt by each member in every community that this rail will effect if approved. The socioeconomic impact will be felt by everyone in each community as well as agriculture related businesses. Its impact will also be felt by the consumer of agriculture goods, which means every person who enjoys eating dairy, produce, meats, poultry and any other farm product. Food does not come from the grocery store. Food comes from farmers who take great pride in what they contribute to society. The food produced is delivered to grocery stores who then make it available for sale to their customers. If the American Farmer fails, everyone fails. I ask that you add this to your analyzes, take time to talk to the USDA. The American people and the American economy depends on the STB to learn how very adverse taking farmland is to the economy and our food chain. You can't grow more farm land and once a rail is built over farmland it makes it unusable in the future. I ask you to research this, as many studies have been done to prove it already. I thank you for your time and for adding this request to the EIS Study. Sincerely, Theresa M. Huber
