I am very much opposed to the GLB project as a way of preserving the peaceful, serene atmosphere of Camp Shaw-Waw-Nas-See and its natural beauty. I attended this camp for years as a child and teenager and my children work and volunteer at this camp every summer. This is a beautiful sanctuary from the city and suburbs of Chicago that children and people of all ages can enjoy and it can never be replaced once it is ruined by this project. Please stop this project. Camp Shaw-Waw-Nas-See was founded by the 4-H foundation in 1946 and dedicated to veterans of WWII. Over the last seventy years it has served the camping needs of hundreds of thousands of campers. It is a place of peace and serenity in a world of noise pollution. Each year thousands of campers attend this venue for camping, wedding ceremonies and receptions, retreats, picnics, pool parties and hiking the beautiful Rock Creek and wooded trails. These activities are threatened by the proposed Great Lakes Basin railroad project. Please stop this project - don't let Camp Shaw be ruined by your short sightedness. Thank you. Alice Herchenbach
