Dear Mr. Navecky, I am writing to the STB requesting to include evaluating the pollution impact in the Draft EIS stage of the process regarding GLBT's proposal. This includes the pollution that will result during the building of the proposed rail, the pollution that will be a direct result of the trains utilizing the proposed rail and the pollution that will occur if there is a train derailment and the pollution that can be caused if there is a fire as an result of sparks coming off the rail. Please examine the scope of the area(s) that will be contaminated and how the soil that is contaminated will effect the crops and or pasture lands and for how long of a period of time will these lands be unusable. Sustainability is an extremely important component in successful agriculture and the agriculture communities. There are many soil and agriculture professionals with whom you can confer to help with the evaluation of the pollution possibilities and impacts.
