I am concerned about the excellent school district that Grant Park has. I don't want my son going to school in Momence. I am also concerned about the neighborhood. How many troublemakers and gang bangers will be riding the rail cars here. There are a lot of very good mannered kids in this town. No troublemakers. What will your railroad bring us? My dad retired from Canadian National in Homewood a few years ago and I have seen the neighborhood change since I was a kid. Now they have barb wire fencing around it now. They have a guard shack now. I used to be able to drive right up to where my dad was working and bring him lunch on Fridays. Why do they need the fencing and the guard? What does that say? TROUBLE! We have a nice quiet little town. Please don't ruin it. What about everyone's water wells? How much farm land will be contaminated? Would you eat food from farm land right next to a railroad yard? Diesel fumes, spills. A passing train is one thing, it's not idling forever warming up the engine. I have seen the pollution from diesels. What about jobs? If it does go through who gets the jobs? Local people or people that already work for you? Please do not put the GLB rail yard in Grant Park, IL.
