Dear Mr.. Navecky, Victoria Rutson and All at the Surface Transportation Board, I live in the footprint of the proposed 15000 railyard, more accurately known as Sumner Township, Kankakee County IL. I am speaking from my heart even though we are not supposed to write to you with emotional comments. My husband and I purchased our home in 1983. He always wanted to live in the country and raise our twin boys in a peaceful, healthy environment with an award winning school system in Grant Park IL. He never minded the sacrifices of having to drive to work over an hour each day or getting snowed in for days at a time in the winter or the hard work of keeping up a home in the country in the summertime...etc....He made all of these sacrifices because he wanted the good clean way of life he could get for his family here, in Sumner Township. He never, ever would have thought that this home, that he chose for his family could be taken away by anyone for any reason. He purchased our home with money that he earned and human rights. When he was 42 years old, my husband died....in this home...... I am my husband's widow.... I own and live alone in this home and will continue to do so with the help of my sons. I will NOT be leaving this home! EVER! In memory of my husband, Frank Kokos, this is my last letter to you. Thank you, Julie Kokos Sumner Township, Kankakee County IL
