Hello my name is Alison Gamble. I live very close to the proposed railroad. I am against the GLB Railroad coming to Grant Park because I am concerned about the school district. My husband and I bought our house in Grant Park, IL because we wanted our son in a good school. Grant Park schools are the best elementary and junior high in Kankakee county. Nobody here wants their kids going to school in Momence. My husband and I grew up in rougher towns we don't want our son going to school there. My second concern is my water well. How will the railroad effect my well? I live less than a half mile from the proposed area. Thirdly, the neighborhood. Have you seen the neighborhood around the Canadian National rail yard in Homewood? My dad retired a few years ago from there. I used to drive there to visit and watched the neighborhood and how they have a barbwired fence around it now. How many knuckleheads are going to be riding the rails and coming here to Grant Park to the new rail yard? Our schools are right there. Does that sound safe to you? Our town is right there. All of the kids play ball games, soccer, and all kinds of sports in town. Are they going to be safe anymore? We have enough problems with break ins all over the place. Do we need more?
