Dear Mr Navecky and STB, Here are just a few excerpts from letters that have been written to oppose the GLB proposal.....these are a very few of the thousands of letters stating valid reasons why this proposal should be denied immediately. Each and every one of them must be addressed. thank you, Julie Kokos The above scenario casts a spot light on the topic of “Environmental Justice”. What justice is there in a private company being granted a right to destroy the environment of peoples and communities in its path way? This is not just a matter of NIMBY, but one of an unjustifiable need being facilitated by government fiat, with the consequences to the human environment being disregarded. We, individual people, depend on our government to protect us from the powerful groups that act only in their own selfish interest. Please do not fail us by not placing the GLB proposal through the most rigorous approval process, and denying it. Environmental concerns: 15,000 acre railyards. That's it. That says it all. I don't even have to list the damn reasons. The adjective in this case (15,000) and the noun (railyard) are environmentally concerning simply by the description. Asking for environmental concerns while proposing a 15,000 acre railyard at the cost of valuable farmland is a pretty redundant question, wouldn't you agree? Please choose the no action alternative. Thank You This man and his GLB line has destroyed the faith many people have that their government is here to protect them. The STB needs to send a clear denial message to GLB and send a message to the country that the government will protect them, that the environment is more important that profits and personal gain. The STB is design to help protect our valuable natural resources and they need to start by telling GLB no, prime farmland is more important to our nation than yet another railroad. DENY THE GLBT PROPOSAL
