I oppose the Great Lakes Basin Railroad. Significant damage to the town of Westville including splitting the town. Reducing the quality of life and the safety of the community. Stubbing county road 900 West will reduce safety for the community. Also, it will severely impact my farming business by splitting my farm with no chance of private or public crossings in my area due to the 5 track rail yard scheduled for east of Hwy 421 forcing me to travel many extra miles on dangerous roads for farm equipment. There are enough existing rail lines in Laporte County to handle this rail proposal although I don't believe the need for it has been shown. The major adjoining railroads are not interested. Save 7000 acres of land from environmental damage and destruction by stopping this proposal.
