I am very concerned regarding the proposed Great Lakes Basin Rail Line. The railroad is potentially very harmful to the wildlife in this area due to potential oil spills, along to the health the people living in this area. Majority of the land is fertile farmland which also became useless in an event of an oil spill. Also, with one track to the north and one to the south, it is difficult most afternoons to get to our property. Emergency personal have to go approximately 5 extra miles now to get our home. If the proposed tracks go in, that would increase the likelihood of increased wait/travel time to our home. The proposed tracks would be to the west. If there was a train on each of those tracks, our home would be inaccessible. I would recommend that no additional train tracks would be placed in our area. I would not only be potentially be hazardous, but also a drastic change to our lifestyle. If the board absolutely feel the railroad would be needed, please consider using the abandoned Monon railroad. The tracks themselves are gone, but the berm remains. Less people, farms, homes, ect would be uprooted. Thank you for your time and consideration.
