Dear Mr. Navecky, My name is Maisie Zink I’m an 11 year old 4-h’er from Illinois. I have gone to Camp Shaw since I was 8 years old. Camp Shaw is my home away from home and it is my dream to be the youngest counselor there. However if that new railway you’re putting in has its access granted that opportunity might be taken away from me.Imagine that you are in arts and crafts making something, say a popsicle-stick barn or better yet a paper plate dreamcatcher. As sudden low rumble reaches your ears you sigh and put down your craft, “It’s just the train” you think. As well as being disruptive/annoying this train could be hazardous to campers, counselors, and staff alike. The trains you are using are called “Bomb Trains”, trains that carry dangerous materials. And if one of the oil tankards spilled and all that gunk got into the creek everything in it would die, there would be no turtles, no fish nothing. Overall the camp would be less appealing and nobody would want to come.Imagine how that must be for kids in the city who to them camp shaw is a fun and safe place. I really hope you choose not to put up the railroad that could ruin camp shaw. Sincerely, Maisie Zink
