I have been a camper at Camp Shaw-waw-nas-see for five years, and I have planned to be a counselor there as soon as I am old enough. By going through with the GLB rail project, you will be negatively affecting Camp Shaw's environment with sound pollution as well as the pollution of the Rock Creek, which might mean the end of Camp Shaw. Going to camp provides me as well as hundreds of other kids with lots of new opportunities and summers full of memories that are unique and new to all of us. Being a counselor in the future, going to Camp Shaw would also benefit me with the experience of having a job that I enjoyed and learning about guiding children in activities such as hiking, team building, and nature skills. Camp Shaw is a valuable part of my life and many others that shouldn't be taken away just for the most convenient spot for a railroad. Please consider my point of view as a camper and future counselor at Camp Shaw. I have attached a picture of me and my friends I met at camp trying Adventure Tree Climbing at camp, an experience we would probably never would have had outside of Camp Shaw. This is one of many examples of the things future campers would probably never have outside Camp, and there are many more such as zip lining, hiking to the Chief Shaw's grave and learning the camp's history, as well as many other opportunities that are special to Camp Shaw.
