Mr Navecky, I am a farmer in Porter County IN. I am opposed to the Great Lakes Basin Railroad plan. 1. Safety. Closing roads will impact emergency vehicles and will force farmers onto busy main highways with machinery increasing the possibility of major accidents. 2. Drainage. The railroad would block at least 95 acres of mine from draining properly. 3. Loss of farm ground. Thousands of acres of prime farm ground would be taken out of production. They are not making any more farm ground. It should be considered an endangered species. Will we be able to feed ourselves in the generations to come? Where will the soil for all the over passes come from in addition to the 200 ft right of way coming out of our fields? Thank you for your time and consideration on this important issue.
