As a long-time resident of La Porte County, Indiana, I ask you to say no to this proposed rail line. As you know, there are large numbers of government entities, organizations, and private citizens against this project for many valid and critical reasons including public safety, environmental impact, disruption of farming and other industries, and so on. There would be a negative impact to many. More than one railroad has already weighed in that they are simply not interested in this particular project. Additionally, technology has moved so fast in recent years that this particular rail construction project is already obsolete! This project simply makes no sense.
