The environmental impact would be devastating to the local Agrian community. Not only near term but for generations to come. The noise level would change the way of life that is known as bucolic. In order to avoid Chicago this group wants to wreak havoc on an entire multigenerational farming families within the proposed tract near Grant Park Illinois. I oppose the rail yard as it takes valuable farm land out production and changes the financial picture of area. Transportation replacing crops is not an acceptable alternative when the same transporting of goods can remain on the tracks presently in place. Traffic would increase causing noise and air pollution along with long term soil pollution. Lose of green space and quality air would be a major deterrent for the quality of life which is presently part of the farming community. Lose of productive farm land also affects the long term stability of feeding America.
