Dear Mr.. Navecky and Surface Transportation Board, Please tell me why the GLB proposal is in an Environmental Scoping Study at this point. I can see so many reasons why this proposal should have never even been looked at. Here are only a few.... First, there has been no formal application filed. Investors have not been disclosed. The GLB is not a railroad with railroad experience and expertise to run or construct a railroad thus a multitude of false truths have been told to the public. No need has been established. The purported object of this project is to relieve Chicago's congested rail system. CREATE is already in place. The extreme and completely evident negative impacts this would have on our environment. The extreme and completely evident negative impacts this would have on our socioeconomic status. There are no Class 1 Railroads interested in this project. With all of the recent derailments and explosions, hazardous materials should be banned from rail transportation instead of increasing it. This is an unjust, abuse of eminent domain for private gain. There are many, many more reasons that this proposal should be stopped dead in it's tracks and the STB should cease all further studies and inquiries. Please take the NO ACTION ALTERNATIVE. I remain, vehemently opposed, Julie Kokos Sumner Township 708-426-4180
