It is improper that the Surface Transportation Board is allowing the Great Lakes Transportation Company until 08/29/2016 to submit alternatives and revisions to their route, but the public can only comment until 07/15/2016. The STB needs to ensure the public is heard in this process and extend the comment period until October 31, 2016 so the public has the ability to comment on the Great Lakes Basin revisions. Not allowing the public to comment on revised plans, amounts to shutting out the very people the STB is commissioned to serve and protect. The public deserves to be able to comment and the STB needs to allow them to comment on the GLB revisions.
