Great Lakes Basin Transportation Company claims all landowners will receive free electricity, if some of their land is acquired for the new rail line. What kind of environmental impact study is going to be completed by the STB taking into account these thousands of new power lines GLB plans to install along the rails. Also the STB needs to ensure GLB pays for these lines, this needs to be written into any statements from the STB. GLB has publicly stated they will do this and the STB needs to hold them accountable. The STB must also ensure all land is acquired at the stated $20,000 per acre price, or the fair market value of the land, whichever is higher. The STB needs both of these provisions written into their reviews with assurances they will enforce all the claims GLB has made regarding reimbursement and what they will pay for.
