I am opposed to the GLBT proposed rail line at this time. I do not feel this proposal was publicly communicated well at all. I have met so many people that are unaware of this proposal and therefore know no true facts. I have been attempting to stay on top of events however, it seems there are many versions and are contradicting. When is someone going to stand up and explain the real story? Why did the STB waive the 6 month mandatory notification period when you claim to have had it since September 24th, 2015? When and where were any pubic notices made if any? I live close to where the rail line would be and I have received NOTHING. I just purchased this home in January of this year, and if I would have been made aware of this proposal, I may have reconsidered this home, in this area and or for this price. It is my understanding the real estate buyers are already avoiding what properties and areas that MAY be effected by this rail line, even with the influx from Illinois. This is just a proposal and is already having a negative effect here in Lowell, Lake and Porter Counties as well. Your approval process is also flawed. Frank Patton did NOT have to certify that anything he said was true to the board. He has misstated and misrepresented his plan on so many occasions and hence the confusion to us and his miles of no specified land use and 50 foot unspecified utility corridor" falls outside of your jurisdiction. How can this be fair, just legitimate??? Why hasn't Frank been required to put the facts on the table and made public??? Until the FACTS are presented and can be PROVEN, I will not support any part of this rail line. Thank you."
