Dear Mr. Navecky and Surface Transporation Board, The county I reside, Kankakee County in Illinois, unanimously voted today to send a letter of opposition to your agency regarding the GLBT. They wrote 21 pages of explanation as to why this proposed rail is unnecessary and detrimental to homes, farmland, businesses, communities, churches, and cemeteries. I implore you to take this boards letter into special consideration due to the simple fact that the GLBT has asked for a ridiculous pie in the sky" quantity of 15,000+ acres. A proposed railport 5 times the largest railport in this country. Frank Patton has claimed they've asked for this amount because "that's what they told him to ask for". He proves his ignorance and shows that he knows nothing about railroads, rail lines, rail cars, rail transportation, rail yards, etc. Based on this information, it seems anyone can bypass local and county planning and go directly to the federal government with a proposal without even the extent of a formal application to build. Is that the case? because that is what GLBT has done? I'd like a formal response please, as I'm a hardworking middle class tax payer who is tired of being crapped on. Just the threat of some billionaire using eminent domain to take my home and land for their own profit is sickening. I thought this was America, where people work hard to fulfill their American dream? Jason R Kokos 708-259-5250"
