Dear Mr. Navecky, I write to you in regards to the proposed Great Lakes Basin Railroad project that is currently up for proposal. While I have much I would like to say, I will keep my commentary brief as I am sure you are receiving messages of disdain from many individuals. The proposed railway poses an immediate threat to the ecological and environmental tranquility of the Kankakee Valley River region. Many times we forget that this land is not ours. It is our four legged friends who roamed this land way before man came in and disrupted the tranquility, nature, and ecological habitats. Please listen to the people. Do not let man rear his disruptive and corruptible hand on this peaceful land. Camp Shaw-Waw-Nas-See Youth Camp is seventy year old camp that is nestled in the heart of the Kankakee River State Park. This 110 acre camp ground serves thousands of participants on a yearly basis. The proposed railway will interfere tremendously with noise pollution. A once tranquil destination is in danger of the potential railway. Yet another natural escape from the horrors of the world will be taken away. I implore you to advocate for the people. I thank you for your time. --Carson Cross
