Mr. Navecky-- My children have been attending Camp Shaw in Manteno for the past six years, and we have family members who grew up attending and working there back in the 1980s and '90s. In addition to the noise and vibration, not to mention the dangers of hazardous materials transportation, the introduction of a new rail line through the area will have a seriously adverse impact on the camp. Rock Creek flows through Camp Shaw-Waw-Nas-See in a deep canyon with a series of natural caves originally used by the Native Americans that once inhabited our land. It is one of the most scenic waterways and geologically unique properties in northern Illinois. The GLB project has real potential to adversely impact the creek, the entire watershed and the camp environment. We need to do everything in our power to protect this irreplaceable natural resource for the enjoyment of future generations. I beg you to reconsider developing this area. Thank you for your time.
