What happens if this railroad is built and abandoned? This line will run through a portion of Kankakee River State Park. Species such as bald eagles, deer, etc will most likely relocate or worse yet be harmed by trains moving through this area.The Kankakee River and three others will be crossed by this railroad. Concerning the Kankakee River efforts have been made to keep it clean.Having 110 trains cross it daily certainly creates a potential pollution problem.
