This project will irreparably damage the way of life in this area, remove a significant portion of the farmland and related jobs from the local economy, and destroy the existing infrastructure in and around Manteno. Furthermore, no major railroad has publicly supported this project or stated it will use the railroad, while two of the six major railroads have publicly stated they have no intention of ever using it.
