We have been told by Mr. Patton that he plans on running 110 trains per day at speeds up to 70 miles per hour. I will assume that you have at some time in your life seen what happens when trucks on the road get off an expressway and have to use the cloverleaf and make the turn too fast maybe 30 MPH and tip over and lose their load That will be nothing compared to what will happen when one of these trains jumps the tracks on a curve. The information from Mr. Patton is that he plans on using this line to haul hazardous material what do you think will happen to anything in the path of this train when it loses its load in a derailment? The areas where MR. Patton has proposed to put this train will be destroyed. Shallow wells will be contaminated, creeks and streams will transfer that water to other areas and effecting people miles away from a crash site. These locations (farm fields)have very intricate underground storm water systems that can carry water to locations that no one would ever think of setting up spill containment. Please deny the request for this unnecessary railroad.
