I am writing to state my extreme opposition to the rail line for the Great Lakes Basin plan. This plan takes a rail line through Rock County/Wisconsin. This is prime agriculture land, needed to supply food to the United States, and to export. Once this land is lost/used for a rail line, it is lost for use as agriculture. It is imperative that no more agriculture land is used/abused for transportation purposes. We can only produce so much for ourselves -- and the world. Do Not Destroy this land. Alternative routes must be available on current rail lines. Also, this cannot be acquired by eminent domain. The impact is too great to squander our precious agriculture land. This also takes a livelihood from many established farm families. What would replace that?
