Another massive train wreck today involving a train carrying flammable liquid and causing major damage and danger to residents! Mr. Patton wants to build a railroad that would carry crude oil and hazardous material through 3 states, crossing many rivers, streams, creeks, drainage ditches and field tiles. What will happen when a wreck happens crossing one of these waterways? The water would be polluted for many miles down stream, affecting thousands of people. The water would no longer be safe to swim, fish, boat, or even to be around. Many cities along the river depend on it for drinking water and recreation. There would be untold lose of wildlife, fish, mussels, birds, beaver, muskrats, deer, ducks, geese and any other wildlife that depend on the waterway for food or water. By going through rural areas a wreck and spill would cause irreparable damage to the aquifer, which supplies drinking water to the wells of all rural residents. If that crude oil spilled into a moving body of water and caught on fire it could travel for miles, and who is responsible for putting it out? THIS PROJECT NEEDS TO BE STOPPED IN ITS TRACKS!!!
