I believe that this rail line directive by the GLBT will have a adverse impact to all environmental areas in the scope of the geology, soil and drainage and overall biological and water resources in the proposed areas. This will also cause other environmental issues, such as excessive exhaust and pollution from, not only the trains themselves, but also the automobiles and trucks that will needlessly sit idle at crossings emitting exhaust, creating more greenhouse gasses than necessary. This proposed rail system will also create unnecessary noise pollution and would also have an adverse effect in property values for citizens still recuperating from an unstable housing and property market. Transportation systems in this country are part of an ongoing infrastructure issue that is not being addressed. Why isn't the priority to continue to maintain, better and raise the standards of the already crumbling rail systems in place instead of creating new systems that will not be sustainable in the future? This should be the real directive of the GLBT.
