The motivation for this request seems clear - increased profits for the railroad owners. What is absent to us area residents is the clear explanation of how the loss of productively farmed privately owned agricultural land (at a time when our nation is approaching food shortages due to dependency on imported food and high rate of food-borne illnesses connected to factory farms)can possibly be beneficial to us citizens. The impact of up to 110 trains per day through this area is beyond comprehension. A single such train causes significant traffic disruptions, such as I experienced twice in the same hour last week. How could anyone (or any livestock) live near such frequent exposure to noise and vibration? So essentially, the proposal is to take away productive farmland, family homes and the peaceful countryside, which gives pleasure to most of us, in exchange for the disruption by up to 110 trains coming from Chicago to abruptly end in Milton, WI? This makes no sense so therefore I can only deduct that this proposed insult to the rural environment must be expected to make cents, as in dollars and cents, to those involved in thoughtlessly pushing through this ruinous plan. Prove me wrong!
