None of the material I have read about this proposed project convinces me that this is in the best interest of the public at large nor is it the least environmentally intrusion option to improve freight service through the Chicagoland area. Instead of destroying additional pristine land, particularly in NW Indiana, where so much of the natural beauty there has already been replaced by large steel industry, why not instead focus on ways to improve the existing rail system in ways that improves rail travel on those existing lines (e.g. the CREATE program in Illinois; www.createprogram.org).
