I contacted Jim Wilson about this area no longer being farmland and he requested I send the information to you so you can explore alternative routes in this area. The proposed route crossing Calumet Ave in Lowell, IN between 185th Ave. and 197th Ave. is no longer farm fields. They are brand new individual family homes. The route literally goes between my neighbors home and his garage. I realize the route was proposed prior to the building of our homes, but I'm writing to inform you of the recent construction. If you are considering allowing this railroad to continue I implore you to reroute the train away from this area. We have all just built brand new homes and have children and animals and would not be able to live there with trains coming at 70mph 50 feet from our homes.
