Deny the GLB railroad. Deny the GLB railroad yard. If the GLB constructs a 15,000 acre rail yard how will they handle the rainwater runoff? 1 inch of rain on 1 acre is just over 27,000 gallons of water. On 15,000 acres that's over 407 million gallons per 1 inch of rain. Last June we received over 30 inches of rain. That's more than 1.2 BILLION gallons of water. Will they have to test, treat and retest all water leaving site? Will holding lakes need to be lined? How many wells will they drill to test ground water? What if they contaminate the ground water? What about existing drainage ditches and tile lines? How will they handle dust blowing from site? How will they handle hazardous spills? The list goes on and on. I see nothing but a potential environmental disaster. Deny the GLB. Thank you, Tom.
