# 15 Docket No. FD 35952 Environmental Comment If this proposed rail line is approved by your board, allowing two thousand (2000) different hazardous chemicals and materials to travel the rails, everyone in the affected areas will live the rest of their lives in fear of a derailment or move away from homes, farms and businesses that they have worked hard to own and in some cases, pass on to their children and grandchildren. The horrible affects of a derailment can destroy the atmosphere, ground water, contaminate rivers and streams and has the potential to kill innocent people. It is only fair that Frank Patton tell us truthfully what he plans to ship over his proposed rail line. We have a right to know and you have a duty to tell us before you decide whether you will or won’t approve it. I have attached two files showing what a Union Pacific train derailment near Mosier, Oregon and the Columbia River has done. It is something that could have been avoided if these explosive material were banned from rail transport. For these and many other reasons I am requesting that you deny this proposed rail line.
