Mr. Navecky; Recently, Mr. Frank Patton the founder of the Great Lakes Basin Transportation Company stated publicly that property values would not decrease and probably increase once the rail line is constructed. When speaking to local real estate agents their consensus is that selling property near rail lines is one of the toughest sells they experience. Noise and vibration are the top complaints. It is unreasonable to think that the value of farms and residences along the path would increase in value. Consider the negative aspects of a rail line, noise, vibration, inconvenience, air quality etc.. I ask that the STB do a property value analysis of all properties within a mile of the proposed path of this rail line and that GLBT should be held monetarily responsible for any potential/future decrease in value for the property owner.
