Mr. Navecky, I am very concerned as to the intentions behind the Great Lakes Basin Rail proposal and the toll it will have in not just Boone County but all the others as well. To hear Mr. Patton has been planning this project for many years I find it woefully riddled with mistakes and poorly executed. He says they will to avoid populated areas and schools but plan to lay this railroad right next to Capron Illinois and it's grade school. While ignoring the facts of flood plains, wooded areas and a river crossing at the Nystroms properties in the corner of Ogle county. Also the endangerment of crossing over utilities like the underground gas lines of their neighbors and Aquifer replenishment for Northern Illinois shows the willful ignorance of the projects managers and planners. Mr Patton wants to take land that is not his for the betterment of the public, his legacy, and his pocketbook. If you allow Mr. Patton to become a railroad he will apply for federal grants. With the projected cost of $8 Billion dollars from at least one unknown investors, the only question remains to the average citizen is How much more will they have to pay?" At what cost to the Environment? At what cost to the Historically Rich Farmland? At what cost to the surrounding communities? I, and tens of thousands more like me, implore you to say no to Mr. Pattons' ill conceived plan that Chicago and Illinois doesn't need and noone wants. Thank you so much for your time and efforts. Kevin Brubach."
