East of Morris they have recently replaced a railroad bridge across the Illinois river because it was hit by so many barges over the years that it was no longer safe for railroad use, so we know that barges do hit the bridge abutments often and they do wear out. A few years ago barges broke away from their moorings between Seneca and Marseilles during a flood and hit the locks in Marseilles causing extensive damage to the locks, which are still being repaired, and flooding a large part of Marseilles with extensive property damage. What will happen over time to the railroad bridge over the Illinois river and what major disaster would it cause if a train full of crude oil or hazardous material should happen to become involved in a crash on or near this waterway? It would affect the whole river system all the way to the Mississippi river and beyond. It would kill all fish and a large amount of wildlife that depend on the river for food, protection, procreation and raising their young. It would kill all recreational use of the river, fishing, hunting, boating, water skiing and swimming. It would also destroy the water supply to many towns along the river, causing them to find other sources of fresh water to live on. And what would happen if that leak was crude oil and was to catch on fire in the river current? The fire would go on for days and miles and who is responsible for putting it out and paying for damages? There was another major train wreck today involving many tank cars and much environmental damage we do not need this kind of risk from a man who has never had any experience running a railroad in his life!!!! This project might be easier to swallow if he had been up front with EVERYONE and did not try to fast track it through or try to hide info. The mans dealings are immoral and bordering on illegal. BE VERY VERY WARY!!!!! Ken Daggett
