My family are transplants from Illinois as of june 2013. We moved to the country for peace and quiet. We live on a culdesac with 8 houses surrounded by farm fields. The rail line will be 959 yards from my backyard oasis. The noise and vibration would be unacceptable to me. Also, the response time for the ambulance to get someone to the hospital would be greatly affected. I work for St. Anthonys hospital Heart Institute and slower response times could prove to be fatal. The higher probability for derailment or chemical spills scare me a lot. Lowell has no other water available to our community. It will also negatively affect our farmers, and the drain tiles would be damaged by the rail being built and affect drainage of our water to the Kankakee river. I do not want my kids on the school bus for hours either. They already have a long route. We believe this rail would be devastating to the community, environment and all those concerned. Sincerely, Julie Iurillo
