I have major environmental concerns regarding the proposed Great Lakes Basin Rail Line. This proposed rail line will have a major negative impact on water resources, disrupting the natural flow of surface water, potentially creating artificial ponds and wetlands that are not natural to the environment. Stagnant water will lead to issues with mosquitos and wildlife. Also, there is an increased chance of ground water becoming contaninated due to train activity including spills and/or derailments. This project is a disaster for our environment!
